Hall passed into doctoral candidacy status with a successful defense of her research proposal entitled “Improving the Integration of Imagery and Remote Sensing Resources for Environmental Emergency Preparedness and Response in the United States: Operationalizing the Open Skies Concept for All-Weather Airborne Data Collection.”

Deason’s topic was “Assessment of Environmental Sustainability Trends in Federal and State Parks: Implications for Policy Development.”

Over the Fall 2004 semester, members of the E&EM program worked with two other GW environmental programs to develop a major proposal to assist the Eurasian National University in Astana, Kazakhstan in developing a new graduate program in Environmental management and Engineering.

Energy 2004 was a workshop and exposition conference sponsored by the Department of Energy, and co-sponsored by the Department of Defense and General Services Administration.
