E&EM Graduate Junsik Yoon Accepts Position as Water Research Analyst at the Ecofrontier Company

Recent graduate Junsik Yoon has accepted an appointment to a new position as a Research Analyst in the Water Division at the Ecofrontier Company in Korea. Junsik is a 2004 gradate of the Environmental and Energy Management program where he obtained his masters degree.

Two Recent EEM Grads Begin New Job At Sentech

E&EM graduate Elvin Yuzugullu started working with SENTECH, Inc. in September 2005. SENTECH is an energy consulting company based in Bethesda, MD, specializing in clean energy technologies and providing technical, analytical, management, and outreach services. Elvin received her Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree from GW’s E&EM Program in May 2005.

E&EM Student Spends Summer Working on Kyoto Protocol Implementation

E&EM Masters student Doug Rossin spent the summer of 2005 working for the giant international management consulting firm Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) in Brazil working on Kyoto Protocol implementation activities. PwC operates in 138 countries across the world, including Brazil.

E&EM Graduate Student Selected for International Scholar Laureate Program

E&EM Masters student Ariel Castillo was selected in November 2005 to attend the International Scholar Laureate Program. Ariel has been given the option of traveling to one of three locations where the program is offered: China, Central and Eastern Europe, or Australia beginning in May 2006.

Mike Helwig Defends His Research Proposal

On April 8, 2005, E&EM doctoral candidate Michael Helwig defended his proposal on "The Energy Policy Act of 1992: Proposed Compliance Strategies and Process Improvements for Federal Agencies.” In his research, Mike intends to investigate potential federal agency strategies to comply with the Energy Policy Act of 1992 (EPAct) as it applies to alternative fuel use and Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) acquisition requirements.

Two New D.Sc. Degrees Awarded

On April 13, 2005, Elvin Yuzugullu defended her research on "Hydrogen Production Alternatives: Resolving Disparities and Examining the Stability of Decision Making Amongst Divergent Stakeholders," thus receiving her Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) degree from the E&EM Program of GW. E&EM Represented Well at the National Hydrogen Association's Annual Conference

This year, the National Hydrogen Association (NHA) held it's annual conference between March 29 and April 1, 2005 in Washington D.C. The conference was titled: "Partnering for the Global Hydrogen Future." E&EM students and alumni participated and contributed to the conference through several activities.
