The highlight of the ceremonies was the graduation of five E&EM doctoral students.  These were Virginia Alzina, Guillermo Jimenez, Daisy Ligon, Marcelo Viega, and  Li-Chun Wu.  Each of these five students defended his or her doctoral dissertation during the year prior to the graduation ceremonies.  A number of E&EM faculty members and students also took active parts in running the ceremonial events.
