The Festival included more than 25 interactive workshops and several innovation labs that addressed the theme of community resilience via five focus areas: emergency preparedness and response; infrastructure protection; natural and cultural resource recovery; public health, wellness, and safety; and economic strengthening.
EEMI Research Professor Alex Beehler served as the moderator for one session and served as a panelist on another seiion, and EEMI co-Director Joe Cascio helped with facilitation of the event. The Honorable John Paul Woodley EEMI Advisory Board Member and former Secretary of Natural Resources for the Commonwealth of Virginia and former Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, made a presentation at the event.
