E&EM; Graduate Antoinette Nyomba Undertakes Major Initiatives in Western African Nation

June 15, 2013

.Antoinette Nyomba, a 2009 EEM graduate, recently was appointed to a major government position to lead an anti-corruption enterprise in the Western African nation of Gabon, while at the same time pursuing establishment of a “green city” in Gabon as designed in her Professional Degree project at GW.

.

Antoinette’s position in the Gabonese government’s anti-corruption initiative is “Rapporteur Général Adjoint.” More important to her dream for Gabon, however, is her work on the Lébamba-Bongolo green city project that she planed for her Professional Degree (Degree of Engineer) at GW entitled “Lébamba-Bongolo Gabonese Green City: A Solution to Environmental Health and Energy Issues, Poverty and Rural Depopulation.”

.

Antoinette’s most recent efforts to pursue the Lébamba-Bongolo Gabonese Green City involve work with a team of American engineers on environmental issues of the Bongolo hospital. Her work is an important part of Gabonese President Ali Bongo’s “Green Gabon” vision, which he announced recently as one of three pillars of his “Emerging Gabon” initiative.
