EEM Grads Assume New Professional Positions

Over the past semester, many EEM graduates assumed a variety of important and exciting new positions in the environmental and energy management arena. Here is a summary of some of them.

Hamed Al-Khalifa is now Investment Manager with the Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, in Bahrain. Previously, Hamed was with the Ministry of Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning, Bahrain Economic Development Board.

 

.

.Alonzo Alvarez recently assumed a new position as Facilities Engineer with the Chevron Africa and Latin America Exploration and Production Headquarters in Houston, TX.

 

.

Jerry Butwid is with the Marine Environmental Response division at Coast Guard Headquarters, where he works in policy development. Jerry is the program officer for a number of projects, such as alignment of the National Contingency Plan and National Response Framework with regard to marine debris as a result of the Japan tsunami.

 

.

Alice Dasek now is with the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, D.C. where she works on energy efficiency grants. She previously was a government contractor on the ENERGY STAR Program.

 

.

Kristin Deason recently assumed the position of Director of Sales for North America at the renewable energy company Gnarum. Inc., in downtown Washington, D.C. Previously, Kristen was with the NOW Gmbh. In Berlin, Germany, Sentech Inc, and Altarum / NewVectors in Washington, D.C.

Holly Clarke Gardner runs Holly Gardner Photography and serves as an Environmental Educator at the Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, Florida.

 

.

Althea Koburger has assumed a new position as Administrative Assistant at The Cadmus Group, Inc. in Rosslyn, Virginia. Althea previously was with the Ecologic Institute.

 

.

Katia Marchesini is Director of Operations at the Energy and Security Group in Washington DC. Previously, Katia was with the Organization of American States.

 

.

Kisa Mfalila is a Principal Environmental Specialist in the Agriculture and Agro-Industry Department of the African Development Bank in Tunis, Tunisia. Previously Kisa was with the World Bank in Washington, D.C.

 

.

Reepa Shroff now is a Chemical Incident Investigator at U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board in Washington, D.C. Previously, Reepa held positions with Mercer and ORC Worldwide.

 

.

Meghann Sullivan is with the US Army Corps of Engineers in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

 

.

Mark Rohan recently assumed the position of Manufacturing Engineer at The Hillman Group, in Phoenix, Arizona. Previously, Mark was at the Naval Surface Warfare Center.

 

.

Vanessa Trejos is holding the position of Energy and Environment Specialists at PEER Consultants, P.C. in Washington, D.C.

 

.

Ramazan Zhampiissov has assumed the position of Executive Director at the Kazenergy Association in Kazakhstan. Previously, Ramazan was with the Podesta Group in Washington, D.C.
