In the Spring 2025 semester, EEM Master’s student Faizan Mufti developed a fantastic new firefighting paradigm in response to the dramatic fires suffered recently by Los Angeles. The new conceptual system, entitled WaterWallX, could counteract the new kind of wildfire that is affecting the entire world, including the United Sates, from climate change. Therse new wildfires are taller, faster, more toxic than anything experienced in the past and to which traditional solutions aren’t enough. WaterWallX is a multi-system wildfire defense design designed to protect not just homes, but entire ecosystems. It integrates fire suppression, air purification, and animal evacuation into one self- activating, data-driven solution. Much more detail on WaterWallX can be seen on its website www.waterwallx.com.
