Junchao Gu is working as a project assistant for the Energy Research Institute(ERI) of the National Development and Reform Commission(NDRC). The NDRC is a macroeconomic management agency under the Chinese State Council, which has broad administrative and planning control over the Chinese economy, while ERI is one of the think tanks for NDRC focusing on energy regulatory design. Junchao is currently assisting with a pilot project called Sustainable Low-carbon City Development, which includes 11 heavily industrialized cities in the central and northern parts of China. The project is conducted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology(MIIT) and was founded by the Energy Foundation. It is expected to conclude in three years. Previously Junchao worked as a consultant on a waste heat recovery project conducted jointly by the Institute of Industrial Productivity (IIP) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Junchao Gu received his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Wuhan University in China in 2012. He graduated with his Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management from GW in 2014.
