E&EM Master’s student Garrett Kephart recently received the George Washington University’s Career Development Fellowship for the Fall 2005 and Spring 2006 semesters. The Career Development Fellowship is given to students who work part or full-time while pursuing a degree at GW. Garret is pursuing his Master’s degree at GW part-time while gaining environmental management experience working full time at the Cadmus Group, Inc.

Garrett has worked as a Research Analyst in the Cadmus Water Group since January 2005. His primary job responsibilities include research and data analysis of regulatory and statutory issues relating to wetlands, disinfection and disinfectant byproducts, groundwater, and drinking water at state and Federal levels. “One of the benefits to working at a Washington-area environmental consulting firm,” Garret says, “is exposure to agency processes and officials, including people who have worked in water quality management for 20-30 years. Furthermore, I have found that much of my coursework at GW compliments my professional responsibilities at Cadmus.”
