Mili Mavely-Washington, a former Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Environmental and Energy Management Program and a 2002 GW graduate (M.A. in Environmental and Resources policy), recently began a new job with the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) in Fairfax, Virginia. Mili started working as a Technical Committees Associate for the Scientific and Technical Initiatives Group with the AIHA in February 2004. AIHA promotes, protects, and enhances industrial hygienists and other occupational health, safety and environmental professionals in their efforts to improve the health and well being of workers, the community, and the environment.
Mili is responsible for facilitating the work of technical committees, special interest groups, and task forces within the Scientific and Technical Initiatives Group by assisting in the development of activities, products and services for the members. She reports that she is enjoying the work and hopes to learn a lot in her new position.
