E&EM Masters Student Dulce Meldau was named as a Finalist for the George Washington University Co-Operative Education Student of the Year on April 1, 2006.
Finalists were honored during a ceremony at the Marvin Center on April 10, 2006, during which
GW President Stephen Joel Trachtenberg presented awards certificates to the finalists.
The GW Cooperative Education program is an educational program that provides students with an opportunity to gain paid work experiences directly related to their majors. The Co-Op program enables you to gain experience, determine career goals and establish a career-related work record, thus increasing marketability upon graduation.

The program enhances and reinforce academic learning through a blending of theory and practice, presents a realistic environment to explore career opportunities and test career goals, and provides opportunities to acquire specific, professional work experience and career-related skills.
