E&EM Alumnus Appointed as Program Director of the Management of Technological Systems Department at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC)

Dr. Amjad Ali earned his doctorate from The George Washington University, Engineering Management and Systems Engineering (EMSE) Department in May 2000. He joined University of Maryland University College (UMUC) as an adjunct faculty member in August 2000. He was soon named the Program Director of the Graduate School's Management of Technological Systems Department. Dr. Ali is the youngest director in the entire UMUC's Graduate School. He manages the Global Technology Management program, which is the largest graduate program in the Management of Technological Systems Department. In this role, he is responsible for directing the program, recruiting/managing faculty, developing and delivering new graduate programs including masters degrees and certificates, and advising masters and doctoral level students. In addition, he is responsible for the promotion and growth of Technology Management Program in the global eLearning marketplace.

Dr. Ali has a multidisciplinary background and teaches a variety of face-to-face and online graduate courses. Courses include: environmental management, strategic management, technology management, knowledge management, organizational performance management, E-Commerce, and project management. Recently, Dr. Ali received the highest ratings in student evaluations and was honored as the highest rated faculty member in the entire department. He is proud to be an alumnus of The George Washington University.
